I love the new range of botanical jewellery, which is available in store and online now!
The collection is made by creating moulds directly from botanical elements, similar to the lost wax casting method. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand carved model of wax, this technique uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of a wax model.
The mould is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mould of itself.
The jewellery is cast in bronze which is then patinated and accented with pearls beads and stones.
I think the pea pods are my favourite, although the raspberries are also gorgeous. Decisions, decisions......
